π Contemporary cube home design
π Contemporary cube home design Welcome to Yerva’s Architecture I want to share one of my favorite modern house ideas – the Contemporary Cube Home Design. Simple, stylish, and smart, this type of home is perfect for people who love clean lines, open spaces, and practical living. It’s a great choice for urban areas, small plots, or even for vacation homes.Let me take you through the full planning and design concept of a cube home, in my own words.✦ Cube HomeA cube home is a house designed in the shape of a cube – square and box-like from the outside. But don’t think it’s boring! The magic is in the smart use of space, minimalist architecture, and modern materials. This design style is rising in popularity because it’s easy to build, affordable, and gives a fresh look that never goes out of trend.
✦ Exterior Design
The outer look of the cube home is clean and strong. Flat roofs, large windows, and simple colors give it a bold and modern appearance. I mostly go with white, grey, or soft black colors, combined with glass and wooden panels to make the exterior look stylish.
We can add balconies with metal railings, a roof garden, or even solar panels on top – making the home both eco-friendly and beautiful.
✦ Interior Planning
Now let’s talk about what’s inside. A cube home is usually two floors, but depending on the space, we can make it single or triple-floor too.
Ground Floor Plan:
Living Room : I keep it open with large windows for sunlight and cross ventilation. A modern sofa set, wall-mounted TV, and soft lighting make it cozy.
Kitchen & Dining: Open kitchen connected to dining for easy movement. I prefer modular designs with sleek cabinets and hidden storage.
Bedroom 1: A master bedroom with attached bathroom. Comfortable, clean, and clutter-free.
Small Toilet : One common toilet under stairs or near kitchen for guests.
First Floor Plan:
Bedroom 2 & 3: Two bedrooms with attached bathrooms. One room can be converted into an office or kids’ room.
Balcony Access: One balcony facing road view, and one utility balcony on the backside.
Family Lounge : A mini living space upstairs for relaxation or reading.
✦ Smart Features
I like to add a few modern features to keep it future-ready:
Motion lights
Smart switches
Rainwater harvesting
Solar lights
Security cameras
Minimalist furniture
Even a small home can feel like a luxury villa with the right design.
✦ Who Should Choose This Design?
Cube homes are best for:
Small families
Young couples
Retired people who want simple living
People with tight plot size (even 600 to 1000 sq. ft)
Those who want a budget-friendly modern home
This design is perfect if you want a low-maintenance, stylish, and compact lifestyle.
✦ Final
The cube home is not just a trend – it’s a smart solution for today’s living. It saves space, looks classy, and is easy to maintain. Every corner is used wisely, and there’s no wastage of space.
I always say, "Simple design is the best design", and cube homes prove it.
If you’re planning to build a new house or want to renovate your existing one, I highly recommend you look into this style. It’s affordable, eco-friendly, and future-ready.
